“Neon- A Noble Gas” Kris Wade-Jones and Jime White
Through November 7th
During electrical storms, ancient mariners first observed a faint glow within their sealed glass barometer chambers.  Thus the noble gasses were discovered.  In time, their unique properties were put to use to create light in the form of neon signage.  As the LED (light emitting diode) and other electroluminescent devices continue to advance, neon signage is falling by the wayside. This unique technology has been embraced by the artist community, both to preserve and transform it.  The medium remains an ideal method to convey text, yet is remarkably adaptive and vividly expressive in other artistic applications.  In conjunction with the Arizona State University Neon Workshop, artist from around the state have gathered to present an exhibition highlighting neon art, its versatility and radiant beauty.
Open for the Art Walk 5:00 – 7:30
